The aftermath of failure Empty
PostSubject: The aftermath of failure   The aftermath of failure I_icon_minitimeTue May 31, 2011 5:17 am

Through the gate stepped the Sotaicho, his blank expression intact as always. A man of his signifigance should expect a better greeting than this, at least that's what he thought.
At his feet, two out of what was supposed to be a full search party knelt, their foreheads pressed firmly against the pavement in utter respect. Not a sign of the two designated targets in sight nor any of the other party members. Even though he could not see the expressions of either of the kneeling Shinigami at his feet, their fear was so obvious that one could almost reach out and grab it.

A brief moment of silence passed before Sasuke spoke. "Stand." His words were law to these beings, they would obey his every command, if not by devotion, out of fear. Both of the lesser beings rushed to their feet, frozen, unable and unwilling to speak unless told otherwise. Sasuke established eye-contact with both of them, something he normally wouldn't care to do unless absolutely necessary. "Report." Authority filled his voice, making the two flinch before one of them opened his mouth, starting to explain where the rest of the party was, and why they had failed to complete their assigned task. "W-we engaged them at a local bar, but they escaped.." The young man swallowed hard, his voice trembling as he continued his report. "We followed them but they were s-so strong, we never expected-"

He was abruptly interrupted when the tip of Kenryoku punctured his heart before being twisted 90 degrees and withdrawn, a quick and clean death, suitable for a man too weak to even meet his end at the wrath of his opponents. The young man fell lifeless to the ground in a growing pool of his own blood. "'Killed in action while following the orders handed down by the 10th Division of the Gotei 13'. Tell Hiroki I sent you back for debriefing." Sasuke sheathed Kenryoku as the Shinigami nodded before rushing through the gate into Seireitei.

The gate closed behind Sasuke as he entered the place where it all had gone wrong, taking a seat at what was left of the bar. Over ten men, ten trained Shinigami, had failed to capture a lowly Hollow and a halfbreed. 'Weaklings are better off dead' he thought to himself. The entire place still reeked of Hollow, it made him wish he could actually hunt these beings on his own, it would've been faster, more effective and most important of all, he would enjoy every moment of it.

Iwao was at the other side of the gate as the shinigami stumbled through riddled with fear, white as a ghost as he was in shock of sort. It wasn't his job to get involved but he felt bad for you young-ling. "You there, what are you scared of?" the response wasn't something that would surprise him, "T-the Sotaicho... and debriefing.." at that moment the shinigami fled and Iwao just smiled before opening a new gate to Karakura Town.

Stepping through onto Karakura Town soil Iwao breathed in the warm musky human stench that lingered in the air around him, but there was something else, his eyes slowly rolled downwards at the rather large puddle of blood he was standing in. "Ahhhhh... i wonder who he pissed off." the body laid lifeless but it wasn't the body that caught most of his attention, the Sotaicho was nearby, he could feel the overwhelming energy. Walking towards a damaged bar Iwao stepped inside, nothing much to see in his eyes but the Sotaicho did seem a little more pissed than normal. "So, hows the booze here." Starting a conversation was not Iwao's strong point and to make things worse he had made a terrible joke. Rubbing the back of his head Iwao leaned against the bar door frame, trying to pull of a friendly fake smile.

The branches that framed the gloomy tarmac path looked alive, like little green children failing to grasp the wind of change.
The whole journey had been way to green for Karako.
The Human nurse didn’t mind trees or plants but when they were the only company besides the odd mumbling drunk for god knows how many miles you start to tire and get annoyed with the endless blurs of green hues flashing with the grey tone of concrete.
Karako was taking a jog through karakura town to help herself keep in shape.
It was a common sight in the spiritual enhanced mile, as a human she had to keep in shape and had a harder time of doing so than Shinigami and Vizards.
The black female was pretty happy to see the sweat soaking her dark skin , it provided proof that she was exceeding her limits.

Suddenly she felt it hard to breathe it was like running through a fog of reshi, which startled the Full bring carrier .
She lived with the vizard so it was rare that intense spiritual pressure shocked her. Karako stopped running not wanting to risk falling. The Hakudo expert looked around and saw a group of shinigami .
it was’nt a rare sight , uncommon perhaps but not rare to see shinigami. But these guys had a different , powerful aura about them. Karako realised that the pressure was coming from one man, and not even intentionally. She looked at them her eyes large and open in many ways .
she bit her lip and tried to pretend that she couldn’t notice them. She carefully tried to walk past them.

Hearing about how the Sotaicho and the 7th Division Taicho leaving to go to Karakura, spiked some interest in Gabriel. He got up from his study and grabbed his overcoat and nonchalantly swung it over his shoulder. He walked down the hallway and pushing against the wall opened a senkei gate. Putting his coat on, Gabriel walked through the gate with a sigh. Coming out he was on top of what he could tell from the stench was alcohol. "How can people drink such a beverage, and for fun none the least," Gabriel thought to himself. He could feel fear, and strength coming from inside. He glided off the roof of the building closing the senkei gate behind him.

Opening the door to the bar, a breeze of sin came rolling past him. Anger swept to him, but he couldn't do anything to stop them. He walked in and took a seat in the corner, hoping he wasn't noticed, but Gabriel knew the Sotaicho would know he had entered. Gabriel and the Sotaicho weren't the best of friends after Gabriel declined becoming the 9th Division Taicho, it was such a hassel. Gabriel caught a glimpse of the 7th Taicho, and was disgusted seeing him drinking alcohol.

Two shinigami were now present in the bar, perhaps his refuge to Karakura hadn't gone by quite as unnoticed as he planned. The question from the captain of the 7th division was probably not that serious, these social situations were a real mess for Sasuke to handle. He reached behind the counter, grabbing the first bottle of liquid he could find and putting it next to the fellow captain. "I'm sure you will find it very average and bitter." Sasuke caught a glimpse of the other shinigami in the room, Gabriel of the 9th division, a man who had recently declined the position of captain of his division. Powerful people should be reknown for their strength, not hide it. Still, he'd rather have him as an example for the other shinigami, a model of sorts. He gave a nod, as if welcoming him.

Sasuke turned his gaze to the window, noticing a dark-skinned girl passing by. She was looking straight at him, her eyes open wide as she kept walking past the bar. Humans were a peculiar type of beings, they were neutral, and therefore had yet to choose their side in this world. They were careless and unaware of what was going on everyday right under their noses, it made him jealous in a way he couldn't understand. He smiled at her before turning his head back, his mind filled to the brim with nostalgia from his past life.

Sotaicho had placed a bottle of rather.. dull looking alcohol next to him and Iwao couldn't help but give in to his curiosity and drink some, but as quick as he was to drink it he was quicker at spitting it out. "Ayyaaaa! what crap do humans drink... ooh Sotaicho-sama, i saw what you did to that poor guy out front, your a mean one." Iwao was smiling even though he hated the strong picking on the weak, he had been drinking heavily prior to entering Karakura Town and being drunk had somewhat changed his view on death. He was in a dangerous mood tonight.

9Th division Gabriel had shown up and to make matters worse the look on Gabriels face slightly offended Iwao. "Oi Gabriel, fancy a little pick me up to straighten your face." as Iwao asked him he waited for no reply and swiftly threw the bottle of alcohol towards the 9Th divisions head, a simple pointless attempt but what would happen next made things interesting.

Rasen grabbed the bottle before it hit the face of Gabriel. He had come after Iwao through Gabriel's gate just as it was closing. His face showed the same stone like calm it always did. Only those who knew him to a fault would gather an emotional response from him. Setting the bottle down on the table he bowed to the Sotaicho and greeted him. "Waka, I doubt this is the best use of your time, and surely there are better drinks back in the seretei."

Turning to Iwao and maintaining his composure to the point where it was creepy he addressed the issue of the alcohol. "Iwao-taicho. Surely it's a bit early for such behavior, and if memory serves it's your duty to maintain public relations not ruin them."

He took note of the girl who walked past them. Obvious to him she could see them but since she was making no effort to address them he would leave her be.

Gabriel saw the bottle come at him, he was prepared to take it out. A hand appeared out of nowhere and grabbed it before it was close. He was glad in a way he didn't have to get into a fight with a taicho, he may not have bankai but he was an amazing fighter. The 11th taicho, recieves Gabriel's respect for stopping a fight before it began. He was also glad how he didn't have to be like the taichoes and sotaicho in how they had to act, he was still an underling. Gabriel got up from his chair and walked towards the door.

He glanced at the 11th Taicho and heard what he told the sotaicho and Iwao. Gabriel bowed to the Sotaicho, and glared at Iwao. He then put his hood on and opened the door. "It's about to rain outside..." He left closing the door behind him. Gabriel used shunpo to get a few buildings away and sat at the egde staring at the door of the bar, waiting for the higher ups to leave, or maybe a fight would start out. He shouldn't have forgotten his zanpakuto back in Seretei, but what can you do, he will just have to use his hands, and kidou.
